Following an Optibet Virsliga, 21st round win against BFC Daugavpils (5:1) Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns shared his comments and thoughts with the media.
Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns: ”Thank you to the players that they showed character on the pitch. I’m thankful that we didn’t stop playing and at all times we tried to play a faster game, trying to prepare for our next games, even more so – hopefully for the next two months that will be very intense. We might have to play a game every three days and we will be ready for that. Today’s game was a start of a marathon. I walked 9000 steps, which probably means that the match wasn’t that intense because I usually have 12-13000. Thank you to the team that they are caring for my health, also their own as we played the game without any injuries and almost without any cards as well. Daugavpils was the only team that we had scored only one goal in two meetings. We hadn’t conceded, but we improved our goal count. Obviously, it’s not great that we allowed the goal against but three points have been earned. We can now switch to the next games that will be very important.”
