Jurgis Kalns: ”Everything is still in our hands, we are not panicking”

Following an Optibet Virsliga, 33rd-round draw against Tukums 2000/Telms (1:1) Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns shared his comments and thoughts with the media.

Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns: ”I’m surprised about the way we played in the first half of the match. Maybe we thought that the opponent would give freebies. On this pitch it is hard to score, in Tukums – at any level, if you don’t score in the first half, you know that the remainder of the game will be hard. During half-time, I said that we can change everything. We tried. Thank you to the players for the character that they showed and that they did things they should’ve done in the first half. They went out ready and motivated. We are still growing, we have young players and nothing is easy here. We have to play more simple, more primitive. The story is about battles, and the second balls not the quality of the game. Unfortunately, not everything is going well for us. Nobody will hand us any gifts, everything still is in our hands, and we are not panicking.”
