Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns: ‘’First of all I want to congratulate everyone on the start of the season. I want to thank both spectators of Valmiera and Riga that came here and created the atmosphere. You could feel emotions, pressure and maybe because of that our second half didn’t go according to plan. I want to thank the boys for the first half, we already discussed in the dressing room that something went wrong for us. We had to make an unplanned substitution but we don’t want to put the blame on that. Anyhow, we’ll watch it back and analyze everything. I believe that this was a very entertaining game and we can be happy that this was the main duel of the first round.’’
