Prior to the UEFA Conference league 3rd qualifying 1st leg Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns shared his comments and thoughts with the media.
Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns: “There are no similarities between Olimpia and Partizan because this opponent plays a different football than Ljubljana does. Much faster, with faster transitions, and battles. They use a lot of diagonal and vertical passes. They have big forwards, they cross a lot. You have to think about how to deal with their main strikers because they are strong. The defenders of both BATE and Andorra teams were sent to all sides and this is the biggest challenge for tomorrow. Anyway, I think they don’t know what to expect from us, just like we don’t know what to expect from them. There is an idea about the team, how it plays, and what kind of counterplay to put in, but it will have to be shown on the pitch. It is difficult to judge their level and ability against their two previous opponents. The Andorrans looked pretty good against them at times, but in the end, the Partizani were the superior team. The game will not be easy.”
