Following an Optibet Virsliga fourteenth-round victory against FK Auda (2:0) teams head coach Jurgis Kalns shared his thoughts with the media.
Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns: ‘’First of all I want to thank the spectators. They were fantastic. Just a little more when the weather will be better and the stands will be full, I believe in it. That pulled us and the game turned out filled with emotions. We knew that during the first half Auda would play a basic game with many long passes and three tall forwards. They simply didn’t invent anything new, just tried to force us to play a game where our midfield Japanese players would be ‘’under the bridge’’. The game was being played above them, don’t know why we tried to adjust, maybe it was a tiny bit of stress about the pitch and the role of the speed. We haven’t trained enough on this pitch. We did change things up in the second half and we knew how to play so that things would change. During the first half, it was hard to reach the players with shouting so we adjusted during the half–time.”
