Turkey Marathon ends with a victory

Turkey training camp sliding into its final phase Valmiera FC in the last game faced off against FC Istiklol – Tajikistan Highest league champions. In a fairly equal battle and after a quick goal the victory was earned by Valmiera’s side thus ending the 2022 Turkey story on a high note.

The game started in the favor of Valmiera FC when a free-kick was awarded at the very beginning of the game. The first attempt was unsuccessful, but the repeated opportunity was realized – Luka Silagadze put us in the lead with a great, unstoppable shot. The players of Isktiklol took over control of the ball. Around the 30th minute we regained control of the game, however, the result did not change until the end of the half – 1:0.

Before the second half, the coaches of the team made several substitutions, sending a fresh force to the field, also giving the opportunity to a wider range of players. Great opportunity in the second part of the game with Djibril Gueye, who hit the goal from an excellent position, but the goalkeeper blocked it.

As things progressed opponent showed their teeth once more, in the 63rd minute of the game they almost tied things up, but only the cross-bar kept us up a goal. Ten minutes later, the goalkeeper Vjaceslavs Kudrjavcevs had to get involved in the match, not allowing the opponent to reach a draw. The two sides continued to exchange moments, but the result remained unchanged – 1:0 in favor of Valmiera FC.

Our final pre-season game will be played on Saturday (5.02) when we’re set to meet with FK Metta.
