This past week the best athletes, coaches, and organizations were celebrated in Valmiera city. Amongst award recipients are our club and our coach.
Prior to the Optibet Virsliga opening game against RFS – the chairman of Valmiera county council Janis Baiks awarded members of our club.
In the nomination, the Sports Organisation of the Year “Valmiera FC” was awarded as an organization, which has developed football in Valmiera with a great deal of work and perseverance. For the first time in history, the title of the Latvian Football Virsligs has been obtained. Winning the tournament has given the team the right to represent Latvia in the UEFA Champions League qualifying tournament.”
Valmiera FC President Uldis Pucitis received the award on behalf of the club.
Nomination coach of the year – “Jurģis Kalns recognized as the coach of the year, who led the Valmiera FC team in 2022 to the first title of the Latvian Football League.”
