In the debut of the head coach Gatis Kalniņš, Valmiera FC footballers demonstrated an excellent performance in the last round of the second lap of the Tonybet Virsliga, defeating FK Tukums 2000/Telms 6:1 at the Janis Dalins Stadium.
The fate of the game, in general, was already decided in the 20th minute, when the scoreboard already highlighted 4-0 in favor of the home team. Alioune Ndoye had already scored three goals, his compatriot Meissa Diop also scored. Emīls Birka (three assists!!!) and Maksims Toniševs gifted both of them excellently with crosses from the flanks.
Another five minutes passed when an elegant play by Lūkass Vapne from the freekick spot was turned into a goal by Jeremie Porsan-Clemente. In the 35th minute of the game, Alioune Ndoye scored his fourth goal of the game after Diop’s cross from the right flank – 6:0.
In the second half, the guests did not return to the field with a sense of doom, but instead demonstrated a good counterplay. In the 70th minute of the game, their efforts were rewarded with a scored goal, preventing Dāvis Ošs from finishing second game in a row on a clean sheet.
At the end of the game, the Brazilian forward Lukas Aruba made his debut as part of the first team of Valmiera in the Virsliga.
On June 20, Valmiera FC will cross the equator of the Virsliga with another home game, meeting FK Metta in the first round of the third lap.
