Entering the final stretch of the pre-season preparation process Valmiera FC has announced yet another, sixth addition to the squad.
21-year-old midfielder Branimir Cavar from Zagreb, Croatia has joined the club on a loan agreement. In the past, Cavar has represented NK Zagreb before joining NK Mladost Petrinja organization to make his way to Hrv Dragovo, where he made 32 appearances while scoring six goals. His final destination was NK Dubrava in the Prva NL league where he played 10 matches in 2023 before joining Valmiera FC for the upcoming 2024 Tonybet Virsliga season.
Branimir Cavar: ”The first impressions of the team and city and everything about the club are amazing. Conditions that we have here for the training and so on are really on a high level. I did not expect that to be the case. I would say that this season we have a really good team and also all the new players, together with older players have good chemistry. Valmiera is a nice city to live in, it is not too big but you have everything you need to think about football and to improve yourself to be better every day. My strength as a player is vision and defensive parts of the game, offensively I would say that I’m accurate with passing and long balls. In my opinion, we can do a lot of good things and I hope and believe that we can go out and fight for the title. If we go step by step, game by game we have a very good chance to win this year. I knew a few things about the league before coming here, I know that Babec and Bosancic played here. It feels like a physical league and I think it is a good league for young players to develop and improve. It is important to get the experience here and to grow as a player to make the next steps.”
Welcome to Valmiera, Branimir.
