The convincing victory gives the place in the Cup semi-finals
The quarter-finals of the Latvian Cup ended with a convincing victory (5:0) over League 1 club FK Dinamo Riga.
It was the first Valmiera FC game in this season’s tournament, while the other Virsliga clubs had already played one game at the 1/8 finals.
In the game against the Dinamo in Valmiera Olympic Centre, Tamaz Pertia’s trained players started off very strong, demonstrating their dominance throughout the game without leaving any hope for the league’s lower-ranked opponents.
The first two goals in this game were scored from penalty spots – first Raimonds Krollis realized his own earned penalty, but a little later Ivan Zhelizko also did the same for a foul against Alioune Ndoye.
Also, in the first half, Ndoye made it 3:0 after a superb Masaki Murata pass.
Pertia made several substitutions during the second half-time. Djibril Gueye scored two more goals thus making the result devastating.
It was the first game in a new club for the goalkeeper Vjaceslavs Kudrjavcevs, who has a little job to do in his debut.
In the semi-finals of the Latvian Cup on September 19, we will fight with FK Liepaja in the away game.
