Early Monday morning, the Valmiera FC team flew to the Slovenian city of Ljubljana to meet the local Olimpija team as part of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers on Tuesday evening.
Most of the day was spent on the road, while after arrival, the team had a little rest, followed by training at the Stožice stadium, where they will have to play a game already on Tuesday at 21:00 Latvian time. After training, team captain Daniels Balodis made his statement about the game.
Daniels Balodis: ”While the weather is hot I don’t want to say that it can make things complicated. It is just another game. We have prepared for the match and everything will be alright. Right now I’m not even thinking about some side things. We have watched the video, we know their strengths and weaknesses. As for our team, We have a quick squad, up-front as well as in our midfield line, we have a fast team in general. We are motivated and those are our strengths. The stadium is very nice, very atmospherical. The pitch quality is good, everything is well prepared for the match.”
