In the fourth-round match of Optibet Futbola, Virsliga Valmiera FC hosted the FK Metta team. In a match full of emotions a single point was earned after a draw (1:1).
At the early stage of the first half, Raimonds Krollis had an amazing rush towards the opposing goal where he broke into the penalty area but unfortunately, he couldn’t find the goal. In the following minutes of the game, both sides looked for the ball control. The first team to score a goal was Metta – Lukass Vapne sent Artjoms Puzirevskis into an attack which resulted in an opening goal. Valmiera team began their dangerous attacks following the goal and Alioune Ndoye found an equalizer with a header. Even though Valmiera had far more dangerous efforts the first half ended in a 1:1 tie.
In the second half, both sides went to look for scoring chances that would give them the go-ahead goal – many battles on the pitch which resulted in cards. Unfortunately for Valmiera, they were the ones that were punished by it – Masaki Murata couldn’t stop a counter, therefore, breaking the rules that handed him a second yellow. Even though down a man Valmiera could pull themselves together to create many dangerous moments, Beks was masterful. The ending of the game allowed neither team to score a goal and that led to an ending by a score reached in the first half – 1:1.
