After seven unbeaten game run in the Optibet futbola Virsliga season-opening, two current tournament leaders fight, in front of Valmiera supporters at VOC, ending with the loss against RFS (0:1). It was our first. Now every team in a league has at least one lost thus far.
The only goal of this game was scored in the 14th minute when a successful dribble and precise shot were executed in the Valmiera’s penalty area by RFS wing Emerson.
Despite a number of good opportunities, Tamaz Pertia coached footballers failed to break the score and overall struggled with the tight defending opponents. The conversion of chances, once again, was not at the needed level.
After this loss, we still retain a place at the top of the tournament dealing 17 points each with the RFS. Riga FC is currently in third place, one point behind.
In the next round on 9 May, we’ll face FC Noah Jurmala at 17:00 at VOC.
