First road win of the season

10 April 2022

In the 5th round game of Optibet Virsliga in Mezaparks Valmiera FC was able to bring home three very important points after a 3:1 victory.

Already early on it was clear that Valmiera FC would be the team that will dictate the matters on the pitch. Auda could barely even make their way to the opposing penalty area. The highlight of the half was when Fabrisa Ondoa made a mistake that led to an 11-meter penalty. It was clear as a day that Raimonds Krollis would line up for the shot, however, he couldn’t put it past the goalkeeper. The score remained unopened – 0:0 after 45 minutes.

The second half brought a different path – Auda started playing more aggressively and applied pressure which led to defensive errors. First up was Daniels Balodis who managed to put the ball in the net from a scramble following a corner kick. Two minutes later Kamilo Mena unleashed a rocket without any hesitation after receiving the ball from Ivan Zhelizko. Although Auda did manage to get one back in the end Alvis Jaunzems rushed to open up space for Luka Silagadze who had it simple to put the ball in an empty left side.

Valmiera FC starting 11: Rihards Matrevics, Daniels Balodis, Roman Yakuba, Alvis Jaunzems, Maksims Tonisevs, Emils Birka, Ivan Zhelizko, Daisuke Yokota, Alioune Ndoye, Camilo Mena, Raimonds Krollis.
