Valmiera FC head coach Jurgis Kalns: ”I am proud of my team. Knowing the psychological situation that we are in, many don’t know about these things. I can only tip my hat off in front of them and I can say that you are a fantastic bunch. To pull yourself together in these situations, to try and play football, not only today, but in general, I can say that I am very proud of their effort today, and in general. They are amazing, and they know that, we already spoke about it in the dressing room. I’m not talking about the results, not about anything other than the characteristics. About their will to be and to become football players. They have earned that right. This game showcased that when you have different thoughts in your mind when it’s hard to pull yourself together – you can accomplish that. I understand them fully and as much as we try to change that, to motivate them, it isn’t easy. Speaking of the game itself – congratulations to BFC Daugavpils. We knew what kind of game they want to play. We are already used to drawing in Daugavpils. We have started the season on the same path as the previous year, I think we have started even better. The fourth and fifth round last year was the worse ones as well. This is nothing new.”
