25 January 2025

Valmiera FC’s goal-scoring machine, the second-best striker in the 2024 Tonybet Virsliga with 22 goals — Senegalese forward Alioune Ndoye — has joined Swiss Super League club Servette FC from Geneva.

The two clubs have reached an agreement on a loan deal for our striker until the summer, with an option to make the move permanent once the loan period ends.

“This move is a dream come true for me. I am very happy to join Servette FC,” said the 23-year-old Alioune Ndoye, who has played for Valmiera for the past four seasons, featuring in 102 matches and scoring 46 goals. “I am also extremely grateful to Valmiera FC for my time at the club. A big thank you to the entire coaching staff, the president, and especially head coach Gatis Kalniņš — he gave me the time and opportunity to prove myself, trusted me, and I was proud to repay that trust. A special thanks to my teammates; it was a pleasure to be with them. I am highly motivated to prove myself at a new level, I believe in my abilities, and I will do everything in my power to make my name known in European football.”

Servette FC currently sits in 5th place in the Swiss Super League standings among 12 teams, just two points behind league leaders FC Lugano. The Geneva-based club has a rich history, having won the Swiss championship 17 times and lifted the Swiss Cup on seven occasions. Servette FC was founded in 1890.
