Renars Rode has been appointed as the head coach of Valmiera FC’s second team. The 32-year-old football coach will also work on the first team’s staff and focus on the work of defenders.
Valmiera FC second tea head coach Renārs Rode: ‘’I’m thrilled to have joined the coaching staff of Valmiera FC and to work for such a professional football organization. Valmiera is a great city as it allows one to fully focus on football. I treat this as a new challenge and a step up in my career.’’
Rode was born on April 6th, 1989 in Riga. He began his professional career playing with the JFK Olimps/RFS team later moving on to play for Ventspils and Skonto organizations. From 2014 up until 2018 he played for multiple teams abroad. In 2019 he returned home to represent the colors of FK Jelgava. In 2020 he retired from the professional sport as a player to then become a coach with the JDFS Alberts team. It’s also notable that he played four Latvian national team matches where he managed to score one goal.
