Safe three points against Tukums

15 April 2022

In the 6th round match of Optibet Virsliga Valmiera FC managed to earn a convincing 3:0 victory at the Valmiera Olympic Center against Tukums 2000/Telms team. Valmiera FC coach Jurgis Kalns allowed some of the leaders to rest due to the hard schedule ahead.

The game as usual began with active movement and ball control by the Valmiera FC side. Early on there were multiple good scoring chances, meanwhile, Rihards Matrevics was able to rest as he didn’t face anything on his side of the pitch. The first goal of the match was scored towards the end of the half when Djibril Gueye with an unstoppable shot got the ball into the far side of the net leaving no hope for the goalkeeper to make it an important 1:0. It’s notable that both Raimonds Krollis and Camilo Mena had superb chances during the frame.

Just as the first half – the second half was dominated by Valmiera FC – in the 49th minute already the score was doubled – Luka Silagadze entered the penalty area and handed the ball on a platter to team captain Krollis who made no mistakes to beat the Tukums goalie for the second time in the match. Ivan Zhelizko was next in line and once again – a perfect pass by Silagadze and the goal was scored from a ricochet. Many substitutions were made including for the first time in a Valmiera FC shirt – Olgerds Rascevskis stepped on the pitch making his debut. At the end of the game, the visiting side was able to create some chances but Matrevics was awake and ready in his goal to turn away everything that came towards him. The game ended with a beautiful score of 3:0.

Our next game will be played on Tuesday (19.04) against RFS when we will visit them at the LNK Sports Park. Start of the game – 19:00.
