Optibet Virsliga has announced the awards for the month of May in two categories both of which Valmiera FC representatives managed to win.
The best player of Optibet Virsliga in the month of May is Raimonds Krollis who helped his team to win seven victories while also scoring eight goals. Our captain’s perfomance was well received by the voters – the spectators and media where he convincingly beat four other nominations – one of which was our goalkeeper Rihards Matrevics.
In total Krollis received 55 points and landed the 1st position in voting, Matrevics came in second with 30 while other candidates – Roberts Savalnieks (FK Liepaja), Gabriel Ramos (Riga FC), and Luka Villela (FK Liepaja) couldn’t beat the 20-point mark.
Optibet Virsliga also announced the best coach for the month of May – our own Jurgis Kalns received the honors. This was already the second time this season that he received the prize. The winner of this award is selected by the Latvian Football Federation’s Coaches Board.
