On February 29, 1996, with the support of the AS “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” factory and the involvement of true football patriots from Valmiera, the Valmiera football club was founded.
Over the past three decades, the pages of the club’s history book have been filled with remarkable achievements, moments of football joy, and also less uplifting times — just like in life. You can learn more about it by visiting the club history section on our website.
Today, at the very beginning of March 2026, we are proud of the name Valmiera FC and of what has already been achieved, while continuing with determination toward our next goals.
In less than 20 days, the club’s first team will begin the LVBET League (Latvian 1st League) championship — the long road back to the top division, the true place where the name of Valmiera belongs and should shine.
On behalf of the club, Valmiera football supporters and fans, we would once again like to thank the founders of the club — Imants Saulītis (then the club president), Jevgenijs Katavejs (the club’s first head coach) and Guntars Melecis (the team’s first administrator).
